SB1 - Rebuilding California
About SB1
Senate Bill 1, the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, was signed into law on April 28, 2017. This legislative package invests $54 billion over the next decade to fix roads, freeways and bridges in communities across California and puts more dollars toward transit and safety. These funds will be split equally between state and local investments.
Overview
- SB 1 invests $5.4 billion annually over the next decade to fix California’s transportation system. It will address a backlog of repairs and upgrades, while ensuring a cleaner and more sustainable travel network for the future.
- SB 1 funds will be protected under a constitutional amendment (ACA 5) which safeguards new dollars for transportation use only. ACA 5 will be on the ballot for voter approval in June 2018.

TI271: Euclid Street Improvement Project
Rehabilitation and Resurfacing of Euclid Street from Slater Avenue to Warner Avenue
On July 9th, 2018, construction commenced on the rehabilitation of Euclid St. from Slater Ave. to Warner Ave. Rehabilitation of this $1,077,000 SB1 funded project consists of the removal and replacement of trees, bus stop pads, selected curb and gutters, driveway approaches, and sidewalk panels. As well as construction of ADA approved pedestrian ramps, and new landscape medians. In addition, grinding of the existing asphalt pavement will occur and new asphalt pavement will be placed throughout the corridor. Once completed, the rehabilitation of Euclid street is set to better support the daily lives of both motorists and pedestrians in the City of Fountain Valley.
GT229: Residential Roadway Rehabilitation Project
City Quadrant H2 is bounded by Harbor Blvd., Newhope St., Heil Ave., and Edinger Ave.
City Quadrant H2 begun Monday, July 9, 2018. This project consist of grinding 1” of existing asphalt and placing a 2.5” of Asphalt Concrete overlay. In the first week the contractor replaced 30 curb ramps to be ADA compliance, along with curb and gutter, sidewalks and driveway approaches that required improvement. The project is expected to be completed by August 31, 2018.
