On January 30, 2024, the Fountain Valley City Council approved permit parking for neighborhoods along Mile Square Park on the Edinger, Euclid, and Warner side of the park. There will also be Preferential Permit Parking on Berg River, Mt Gustin, and Loya River.
This is in anticipation of possible overflow parking from Mile Square Park and Centennial Park for the following special events/holidays:
TET Festival (February 9-11)
Easter (March 31)
Cinco de Mayo (May 5)
Mother’s Day (May 12)
Memorial Day (May 27)
Independence Day (July 4)
Labor Day (September 2)
Parking passes will be available for residents and their guests at the front counter of the Police Department and will be valid for the remainder of the year. Proof of residency will be required. Passes are to be clearly displayed in the lower left front window of vehicles. Residents do not need permits for vehicles they park in their own driveways and garages. They will only need permits for vehicles they park on the street. Violators will be cited per FVMC 10.44.079 – permit parking only.
The Police Department will staff additional officers and parking control personnel to enforce traffic safety laws as well as the permit parking only restrictions. This extra police staffing will be paid for by the event promoters. See below for a list of streets affected:
