Update on the City's Traffic Signal Synchronization

TRAFFIC SIGNAL SYNCHRONIZATION UPDATE

Over the past six years, the I-405 Improvement Project has significantly impacted Fountain Valley streets. Construction activities during the project obliged the City to accommodate numerous construction detour routes and other traffic pattern fluctuations. As a result of the ongoing construction, the City could not thoroughly synchronize traffic signals to the level of what was in place prior to the I-405 project.

Now that the project is nearing completion, the Fountain Valley community is experiencing the benefits of the new and improved bridges, more efficient freeway interchanges, new traffic signals, and new LED bridge lighting. The City will be working with Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) and the I-405 Improvement Project team to restore traffic signal synchronization for those areas impacted by the I-405 Improvement Project.  In addition to these restoration efforts, the City will also improve the traffic signal synchronization on the following corridors through OCTA grant-funded interagency collaborative Traffic Signal Synchronization Projects (TSSP).

•    Edinger TSSP
•    Warner TSSP
•    Slater TSSP
•    Talbert TSSP
•    Euclid TSSP

Over the next year, the City plans on implementing a citywide comprehensive traffic signal synchronization project. The goal of this project is to synchronize all city arterials for community-wide consistency.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and thank you for your ongoing patience on this matter.
