Neighborhood Watch

Neighborhood Watch

Neighborhood Watch was established in 1977 as a joint effort between community members and the Police Department to fight crime, protect property and ensure safe neighborhoods. Neighborhood Watch is based on the theory of “neighbor helping neighbor” and keeping the police alert to suspicious activity in your neighborhood. Neighborhood Watch volunteers assist the Police Department by educating the public protect themselves and their property through proven crime deterrent techniques.  Neighborhood Watch volunteers author the quarterly Neighborhood Watch Bulletin and aid in educating volunteers in developing a program in their neighborhood.  Because of this cooperative effort, Neighborhood Watch has proven instrumental in the prevention and control of crime in our community.
